A monthly membership with Tracy Friedlander & Sue B. Zimmerman
The Action Takers Collective
The content you're already making should be making you money.
Introducing a new membership experience with two coaches and two platforms, built around one job: turning what you post on Substack and Instagram into conversations, collaborations, and conversions — one focus at a time, with people who actually get things done.
Sound familiar?
You're creating consistently on Substack and Instagram, but wondering when all that visibility is supposed to turn into clients, customers, or cash.
People read, like, and occasionally tell you "this is SO good" — and somehow the conversation keeps ending right there.
You know you should be building relationships and collaborations online, but you'd rather chew aluminum foil than send another painfully fake "love your content!" DM.
You're sitting on a paid tier you want to launch (or already launched) with no clear reason for your free readers to actually cross the velvet rope.
You're ready to stop treating content creation like the entire job and start using it for what it's actually for: conversations, opportunities, and revenue.
You're not short on effort.
Here's what we've noticed about the people who come to us: the problem is never effort. You've got ideas for days and a work ethic that would embarrass someone half your age.
What you're missing is a clear sense of which idea deserves your Tuesday.
So you try seventeen strategies before breakfast. A thread about Notes reworks your whole plan on Monday. Instagram tells you Wednesday that the real money is in the DMs. Come Friday, your business feels like six browser tabs left open in your brain, none of them finished loading.
That scatter is what's stalling you — and it's not a discipline problem or an age problem. Doing a little of everything means nothing compounds, and compounding is the whole game.
Momentum works the opposite way from what the internet sells you: fewer tactics, done consistently, in the right order. The fastest way to get consistent is to stop doing it alone.
Introducing the Action Takers Collective
A monthly membership where your content stops being random acts of visibility and starts doing real work — sparking conversations, opening collaborations, and turning the right people into paying subscribers.
There's no forty-module course to disappear into, and no algorithm to pray to.
Each month, we go all-in on one area, and you leave with a plan you'll actually run.
It's built for people who are done dabbling — building something that's finally yours, in your 40s or beyond, bringing a career's worth of substance to it.
Who's in the room with you?
Two of us run this, and we cover very different ground on purpose.
Tracy Friedlander handles the writing and Substack side. I came up through the entrepreneur world after pivoting away from the traditional job track, and I love the writing and messaging side of things. I'm the one who'll help you figure out what to say, how to say it, and how to turn a publication into something people actually pay for.
Sue B. Zimmerman handles the Instagram, visual, and selling side — two decades of building audiences, and the undisputed queen of turning a DM into a real conversation (and a customer). Sue is an action taker on steroids.
Between the two of us, we've built offers, cohorts, memberships, and audiences, and we've done the selling, the showing up, and the making-things-happen across both platforms. You get two ways to solve the visibility-to-revenue puzzle instead of one person's One Sacred Internet Formula.
How it works
Every month, we go all-in on one of the four C's, and you get two live calls to make real progress on it, plus continuous interaction in the group for your questions and support.
Each call comes with specific actions to take before the next one — so you're never just collecting information; you're moving. That's intentional, because we know how easy it is to get overwhelmed.
Some months' calls are full trainings on the moves that matter most, like how to host and promote a Substack Live people actually show up for, or how to structure a collaboration that grows both audiences at once. Some are like walk-throughs, some are like hot seats.
We are intentionally creating this so that you get what you need when you need it, instead of joining something where you have to watch 97 videos before you start doing anything.
Sue B. and I believe that doing is how you learn. Not reading, watching, and learning more before starting — that's the recipe to staying stuck.
And you do all of it alongside a room of people who are creating, connecting, and experimenting right beside you — because motivation is a lot easier to find when you're not manufacturing it alone in your office.
What we cover: the four C's
CONTENT — what to make, and what shape to make it in
The goal is content that lands where your people are actually looking, in the format that fits the idea. You'll get clear on things like:
CONVERSATIONS — a bigger network, minus the cringe
Sue B. is the queen of the DM conversation, and there's a reason we lead with it: a real 1:1 conversation is the fastest path to a sale, and most people leave those completely on the table. You'll learn:
COLLABS — borrow other people's audiences, with their blessing
Collaboration is one of the biggest audience-growth levers on Substack, and it beats feeding the content machine by yourself for another month. You'll learn how to spot, initiate, and run win-win collabs like:
CONVERSIONS — make a paid tier people actually want to join
Almost everyone is confused about how to make a paid Substack tier worth joining, so this becomes one of our biggest topics — and it's about way more than where you drop the paywall. You'll get:
A few myths we'll happily put to rest
"More content automatically creates more sales." More content creates more content. Strategic content creates movement.
"You need a giant audience before collaborations or paid tiers make sense." The right small audience and the right relationship beat 20,000 vaguely interested strangers.
"If your content is good enough, people will figure out how to work with you." People are busy. Build the path.
Who it's for
Who it's not for
But if you're ready to create, connect, collaborate, make offers, and actually do something with your visibility instead of endlessly preparing to be ready — get in here.
Working with either of us one-on-one runs thousands per month
You shouldn't have to be ready for that to get real traction
The Action Takers Collective is three monthly payments of $197 OR $500 total.
We start September 1st
For that: a monthly focus across the four things that actually grow an online business, two live action-driven calls, full trainings on the high-leverage moves, and a room of committed people building alongside you — on both platforms that matter.
Only 4 spots left for this round... doors close on September 1st
Before you join
Get in the room
You can keep wishing and hoping that what you're doing eventually works — or you can get in the room now with strategists who've already done the work and the reps, and who'll save you the time, energy, and guesswork so you actually make an impact and an income.
That's what this is: a room full of action takers who'll hand you ideas, start conversations, become your collaborators, and remind you that building a business online was supposed to be fun.
